Fairview Slopes
The original ground floor 780 sq ft 1 bed, 1 bath apartment had minimal storage space, featured outdated finishes, and a small kitchen. In order to bring light and airiness into the kitchen space, we removed the partition wall that separated the living room and extended the counter. The fridge was also repositioned and cleverly concealed behind the entry hallway.
The materials selected were kept to a minimum and consistent throughout the apartment: Ceaserstone counters and white oak for the millwork and flooring. The Superwhite marble encompasses the entire kitchen backsplash.

We maximized storage in the bathroom by utilizing the cavity space hidden behind the wall separating the bedroom. To maintain a clean palette (and for its non-porous properties), Corian was chosen for the ledge and medicine cabinet door. The tactile Mutina tiles are used on both the flooring and walls to create a spa-like environment and makes the space feel more expansive.
In the living room, an eclectic collection of furniture pieces (including a colourful Jan Kath rug) adds an element of playfulness and invites guests directly to the south-facing 500 sq ft patio.
